Got a new windows 8 laptop. Went thru the signup, entered the e-mail address and got an e-mail asking us to verify. When trying to verify, the screen said the account doesn't exist. Tried making a new account, but the screen says the e-mail address isn't available. Have called in to Microsoft, and a tech logged in and looked at it, couldn't fix. Tried Outlook e-mail support, just referred to this message board with no attempt to fix. No one seems to be able to just fix or delete the account so we can use the e-mail address. We made an account with an old e-mail address, but it would just be easier to use the same e-mail address for everything. Since downloading anything for Windows 8 needs an account, I would like to be able to contact someone who can fix this. The person is logging in using an Alias. If the user renamed the affected email address into a new account, the original account will become an Alias. Thus logging in using the original account Alias will trigger the system to prompt the user that it does not exist. The solution is to log in using the new account.
